The Collection of Lost Artists

The "Collection of Lost Artists" is a private art collection in southern Germany. It is dedicated to the "lost generation" of German artists. Artists who were, due to historical circumstances, not able to earn their fullest reward of recognition during their lifetime.

The collection consists of paintings, drawings, etchings and sculptures, mostly from the 1910s - 1940ies with the focal point on expressive realism. The artists are rarely found in popular exhibitions. Still, as children of their time, they represent the most important streams of fine art in the 20th century too. Besides the main interrest of the collection, several modern and contemporary artists complement  the idea in topic, form or composition.
